ABB's turbocharger division recently unveiled its newly developed marine auxiliary turbocharger at the CIMAC conference in Helsinki, Finland. Recently, ABB disclosed more details of this new product.
ABB's Marine Auxiliary Power (MXP) turbocharger was developed by ABB in conjunction with its Japanese joint venture IHI, using a simplified design concept that incorporates and optimizes the matching characteristics with the auxiliary machine and is designed for heavy fuel use. Oil, a marine auxiliary engine with an output of up to 2 MW, has a competitive overall cost advantage and powerful performance in terms of fuel consumption and load response.
Roland Schwarz, head of ABB's Turbocharged Marine Auxiliary Products Group, said the new product is a direct response from ABB's turbocharger sector to market demand and hopes to bring value to engine manufacturers and ship operators with optimized performance. .
It is reported that the new products will be delivered at the beginning of 2017 and will be divided into three sizes with a flow rate of 0.6-3.5 cubic meters per second.
