The 12th Five-Year Plan will increase the proportion of new energy use

On the 13th, the Asian Energy Forum 2010 press conference kicked off in Guangzhou. It is reported that in the "12th Five-Year Plan", China's energy development emission reduction targets are expected to be lower than the "11th Five-Year Plan" period of unit GDP reduction target, and it is expected that it will not exceed 20%. In the next decade, non-fossil energy will account for 15% of total energy demand.
Dai Yande, deputy director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that in the future, rising fossil fuel prices are a major trend, and the country will use a differentiated energy price approach to regulate energy demand structure and increase the proportion of new energy use.
It is reported that China’s total energy demand in the next 10 years will still have to increase 2 billion tons of standard coal. It is a challenging task to reduce demand and increase energy efficiency. It is estimated that non-fossil energy will account for 15% of the total energy consumption in the future. The installed capacity of nuclear power should reach 80 million kilowatts, and hydropower should reach 400 million kwh.
It is understood that the theme of the current energy forum is "green energy and regional cooperation". About 350 leaders from energy-related government departments at home and abroad, well-known entrepreneurs in the energy field, and experts and scholars attended the forum. Participants will conduct in-depth discussions and experience exchanges on regional energy development and cooperation, research and development of new energy, and improvement and innovation of energy use efficiency.
