U.S. PPG Industries has announced that it will establish PPG Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai to further expand its development in China and the Asia Pacific region. The new company has officially started operations on June 1, 2011 and will serve as the headquarters of PPG China to provide services for its operations in China.

Viktor Sekmakas, senior vice president of industrial coatings and president of Asia Pacific at PPG Industries, said: "China is in a period of rapid development. PPG's new China regional headquarters will further promote business development by integrating its business and functional departments in China. China and the Asia Pacific region are a crucial part of PPG's global strategy. In 2010, our sales in the Asia Pacific region exceeded US$2 billion, making a huge contribution to PPG's global sales.”

PPG currently has a total of 14 factories and two R&D centers in China. It manufactures and sells coatings, glass and fiberglass, optical products and aerospace materials in China.
