During the event, Voith's technical experts gave a detailed introduction to Voith's R&D results and new solutions in the commercial vehicle sector. These include: the parallel-type hydraulic retarder VR115 CT developed specifically for trucks and buses in China, the air compressor LP 490 with Voith's unique two-stage compression technology and intercooling system, and the Voith boost for heavy-duty engine upgrades. Turbo Compound for power turbine system, Voith start retarder clutch VIAB, Voith automatic transmission DIWA, Voith hydraulic torsion damper Hydrodamp and Fu by integrated hydrodynamics wear-free and mechanical transmission high efficiency It is a new electric drive system.
Voith technical experts introduce new solutions
Accompanied by colleagues from Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, Mr. Cornelius Weitzmann and Mr. Martin Wawra visited the Dongfeng Commercial Powertrain Plant and the vehicle production plant in Shiyan City. On the production line of the powertrain factory, a Taiwan Voith hydraulic retarder is being assembled on a new gearbox developed by Dongfeng. The hot production indicates that the new gearbox has entered mass production. On the Dongfeng vehicle production line, a Dongfeng Tianlong flagship KX equipped with a Voith hydraulic retarder and a new generation Dongfeng Tianlong KL heavy truck are slowly moving down the production line.
Once these two heavy-duty trucks were launched, they were highly regarded by the market. The market sales were extremely hot, which fully demonstrated the trust and recognition of users for Voith and Dongfeng products. At the end of the event, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions and reached consensus on issues related to future product and technology research and development, and successfully concluded the technical exchange day.

At present, the Dongfeng new gearbox DT14 equipped with Voith hydraulic retarder has entered the mass production stage. This manual transmission is equipped with Voith hydraulic retarder VR 115 CT, which is mainly equipped with Dongfeng Tianlong flagship KX series and Dongfeng Tianlong KL series heavy trucks to enhance the safety, economy and driving comfort of this series. In the process of matching with the whole vehicle, Voith works closely with Dongfeng commercial vehicles to ensure that the data meets the design requirements and driving needs.
