Including Bosch , Shell , Mobil , Federal-Mogul, Philips, Hella, Mahler, MANN, Gates, SKF, Sophima, KYB, a total of 12 world-famous auto parts brands, the first announced cooperation with Alibaba, covering Car filter, brake pads, wiper, lights, oil, tires and other categories, more than 20,000 stores in more than 300 cities will also provide homogenous parts installation services.

The so-called homogenous parts refer to the parts that have the same or higher product quality than the original car parts standards and have good loading performance. This is the first time that the relevant regulations of the country have clearly defined the definition of “homogeneous parts”. The reason why Alibaba.com has recently come online is also due to policy changes.

On August 26th, the Ministry of Communications issued a document stipulating: “The caretaker shall have the right to independently choose the maintenance operator to carry out repairs. Except for the responsibility of the automobile manufacturer to implement the recall of defective automobile products and the “three guarantees” of the vehicle quality, no unit or individual may impose or Disguised mandatory designation of maintenance operators." This means that before the new car must be returned to the 4S shop for original factory parts during the warranty period, otherwise the problem of the 4S shop will refuse to guarantee the monopoly rule will be broken. Owners really have more autonomy to choose from, and can choose the more affordable homogenous accessories during the warranty period.

The new policy has excited the auto parts industry. At the launch event of Alibaba Auto City's genuine alliance, 12 auto parts brands from around the world and Alibaba.com jointly launched the “Quality Verified Platform for Same Parts”. The platform is open to auto repair shops and users free of charge. Users can log in to the relevant pages of the Tmall auto parts, enter the product code to track the source, query the authentic parts, and understand the production time.

“At present, the Ali Auto Engine Parts Database already covers more than 60% of auto parts and can be updated in real time. This is also the first database of homogenous parts in China.” said Wang Licheng, General Manager of Ali Automotive Division, “The future will be completed. Vehicle accessories library, better service to consumers and auto repair shops."

Huang Dongyun, director of channel marketing for Greater China Region of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, said: “The launch of genuine parts with the same quality is a strong demand of consumers. Ali integrates the data of the accessories providers to verify the authenticity of the online and protect the interests of consumers.”

Although the homogenous parts are at least 30% cheaper than the original parts, and they provide inquiry products, they can also guarantee consumer confidence. However, after the network purchases the same parts, how to install is also a problem. For the convenience of users, after Ali Motors users purchase the same parts, there are three ways to choose from. First, mail to the nearest offline store to inform the consumers to install the store. Second, send home, and then the consumers will be installed in the nearest store. Third, some outlets directly provide on-site service.

At present, Alibaba's automotive platform has been able to support the installation of tires, oil maintenance, navigation, and driving recorder equivalents. It covers more than 20,000 offline stores in over 300 cities, of which 72 outlets in some cities support on-site service.
